SIMPLE @ JISC Learning & Teaching Practice Expert Group Meeting

Last week the SIMPLE project was given its final presentation at the JISC Pedagogy Expert Group meeting at Aston University, Birmingham — http://www.jisc.ac.uk/whatwedo/programmes/elearningpedagogy/elearningexperts.aspx. Slides up on Slideshare at http://www.slideshare.net/paulmaharg/simple-presentation-presentation. Back in 2006 project members Brian Henderson, Helyn Gould & Paul Maharg presented the two-year project to the group, explaining aims & methods. This time Paul presented the completed project, summarising achievements, evaluation data and analysis, and taking questions about the direction of the SIMPLE initiative and associated research projects. Needless to say, the SIMPLE community will play a crucial role in the development of the software. There are many successful JISC projects that are simply one-off projects that demonstrate success, report back, and then disappear into an archive. Will that happen to us? Not if we can help it… We’ll be reporting on the progress of SIMPLE in its project sites over the coming few weeks & months, to give you a sense of what the community is currently doing with the software. There’s a lot happening out there, and some fascinating projects being developed and run.
