Running SIMPLE Demo

There have been a few e-mails in about running the Platform demo server that was given out at the SIMPLE '08 event involving "Page cannot be displayed errorrs".

The most common reason for getting the "Page cannot be displayed" error is caused by your web browser being configured to use a proxy server to access the internet. What happens is that the web browser asks for a page, and the proxy server then tries to find it out on the Internet, which it will not be able to do.

If you temporarily disable any proxy/cache settings by going in to the "Internet Explorer" ->"Tools" Menu and then "Internet Options". Select the "Connections" tab, and click on the "LAN Settings" button". Make sure that everything is unticked (you may wish to make a note of any settings here so you can restore them later).
Click on "OK" until you get back to IE, and then try to access the demo box again.
