More than one simulation at a time

I have one simulation in progress for third year computer students. I am about to start a different simulation for first year law students. I presume they are all listed together under users. I also presume it would be wise to provide them with a very different type of user id so I can identify them in the user list or else they will all be mixed up and I'll be unable to distinguish them.

Yes, If you need to distinguish them at a glance, then a different format for their usernames would be appropriate.

All the users are just listed together.

Alternatively you could add them all to a "First Year Law" user-group.
