Linking Documents to Directory entries

Postby lauramreid on Thu Oct 23, 2008 1:04 pm

I've created some webpages for the people in my directory and uploaded them as file resources (not URL resources) but I can't figure out how to link the html files to a directory entry. ie so that it appears as a link beside that entry in the directory.

If you select a role in the tools, and click on the "Add Property" button, a dialog will pop up.
Select the "infolink" option as the name, and then choose the "Select Resource" option from the Value field.
Choose the resource that you want to appear when the directory entry is selected.
Click OK.

You should see a new Property appears named info link with a long fairly incomprehensible combination of letters and numbers (this is the Unique Identifier for the resource you selected).

That should be it. Now when you create a simulation instance, the directory entry should have a little globe icon next to it. In addition, if you have configured the directory entry to appear on the map, the resource will be displayed when they click on the entry's name in the map pop-up.

Hope this helps.
