uploading the csv file

Postby kmcounsell on Wed Oct 28, 2009 8:14 am

Hi

MY IT colleagues have tried to upload a csv file, following the guidelines posted on the wiki. It hasn't worked. They have asked me to post this question:

When we are trying to batch import students using a csv file we get the following error message:
INSERT INTO users (userid,username,`password`,displayname,active,email,regnumber,properties,superadmin) VALUES (360,'12345678','02169402374471689b911d54990a7313','TEST USER',1,'12345678@glam.ac.uk','12345678','','DENY')
MDB2 Error: unknown error
Problem Executing statement

The csv file used from the import is as follows:

12345678,36911013,TEST USER,1,12345678@glam.ac.uk,12345678,,DENY,NONE,None

When we run the SQL statement manually against the database we receive no error and the student is added. Has anyone else had this problem or is there a way that we can identify the error that is occurring?

many thanks
Karen

we upload our CSV files in this format:
username,password,display name,active,email address,registration number,properties,super admin,permissions,authentication method

and leave a fair few of the fields blank... one example for a student is:
First Last,,First Last (coreLdap),1,u1234567@anumail.anu.edu.au,,,0,AddUser=0|EditUser=0|MakeLevelZeroUser=0|AddPlugin=0|InstallTemplate=0|EditTemplate=0|RemoveTemplate=0,authmethod=coreLdap|externalid=First Last

we got that info from: http://130.159.238.105/wiki/index.php/S ... ile_Format
